Frequently asked questions
What should I have to look for when I'm locating a suitable site for a Magic Mirrors tent?
The ground must be firm and flat. There can be a maximum height difference of 25 cm to 30 cm (< 1.25 %). The site must be accessible for our truck and trailer and large enough to place the Magic Mirrors tent itself!
How do you build a Magic Mirrors tent?
All Magic Mirrors tents are assembled and dismantled by hand. All the various parts are carefully unloaded piece by piece from the truck for immediate assembly. It is not possible to use a forklift to unload as the material is too fragile and too precious.
A Magic Mirrors tent is self-standing and does not use ropes. Only during assembly and dismantling is a central pole held in position with ropes.
What do I need to know so that the Magic Mirrors tent can be built well and efficiently?
In order to secure the central pole in the correct place, we must place pins in the ground. If this is not possible due to a concrete or stone base for example, the tenant should provide four other anchor points for the ropes. These can be cars or palettes with a minimum of 500kg/piece. This process lasts only four hours or so during both assembly and dismantling. Once a Magic Mirrors tent is assembled it is free-standing.
Clients should also ensure that lighting systems are in place so that we are able to continue working when darkness falls if required. Because of the manual work required to assemble and dismantle a Magic Mirrors tent, the truck and trailer must be some 5 metres from the Magic Mirrors tent itself during the operation.
What equipment does a Magic Mirrors tent have?
A bar, furniture, a stage, boots (bench + table), a pay-desk counter, a wooden floor, pipes for mounting light and sound equipment, basic lights around the dance floor and above the bar, and emergency lights.
What equipment does not come with a Magic Mirrors tent?
A Magic Mirrors tent is not equipped with tables, chairs, sinks, refrigerators, light and sound equipment, an electricity box, fire extinguishers, heating or air-conditioning.
What do I need to know about the electricity?
A Magic Mirrors tent is not provided with an electricity box. There are three 220 V plugs: one for the lamps around the dance floor, one for the lamps above the bar and one for the emergency lights.
What safety standards are adhered to?
A Magic Mirrors tent is provided with fireproof sails and velvet, both with the M2 safety standard. The wood has been treated with a fireproof varnish and emergency lights and emergency doors are installed. Differences in height (steps) are indicated with white strips. Because safety regulations vary from place to place, the client must provide June
the fire extinguishers.

What is not permitted?
It is not permitted to screw, drill, saw, staple items into or onto the tent. If you need to attach something, please use removable tape. Please ensure that you remove all tape afterwards! It is not permitted to tape anything to the façade as this is painted and the tape will remove the paint.

Are there arrangements for sound and light systems?
A Magic Mirror has a standard number of pipes ( 5 cm diameter) on which to mount light and sound systems. However, there is an absolute limit of 70 kilograms per pipe!
What is the best way to heat a Magic Mirror?
Under the stage or in the side panels (see plans) are holes of 50 cm diameter to connect heating tubes. Magic Mirrors Inc. does not provide heating. Please contact a rental company in your area.
Is it possible to provide a Magic Mirror with air conditioning?

Is it possible to feature a trapeze performance in a Magic Mirrors tent?
Yes. It is possible to hang a trapeze from the top of a Magic Mirrors tent. Basic trapeze acts are then possible. Please note, however, that this is your responsibility. We advise you to charge the trapeze with no more than 250 kilograms.
Is it possible to personalise a Magic Mirrors Tent?
Yes, it is possible to give a personal touch to the Magic Mirrors tents. There is space provided in a central part of the façade for our clients, where the event name can be placed, etc. This will be done in the Magic Mirrors house style to ensure that the "look" of the façade is not be disturbed. You can pass your requirements for the message to Magic Mirrors Inc. and we will make sure this is on the façade when the Magic Mirrors tent is delivered. The cost is automatically included in the contract.
How much does it cost to rent a Magic Mirror?
The price of a Magic Mirror depends on several things:
The location where the tent is to be built
(number of kms between our base and the place)
The size of the Magic Mirror
How long you need the tent (1 week, 1 month, etc.)
That is why we always like to make a precise offer.

- June 2005 - Dagje Blankenberge: Dagje Blankenberge on June 25 is becoming a traditional day out on the Flemish coast and Magic Mirrors has provided the mirror tent for the occasion.
In addition to the attractions, animation and performances on this family oriented occasion, people were able to dance the day away in a Magic Mirrors mirror tent to the sound of the Dennis Sweet Band. On top of this, there was disco dancing and an initiation to wheelchair dancing.
